About the club
Everybody is already a member. The patch is the only optional part.
Everybody is already in
Flub Club admitted you the first time you looked up mid-swing. Nobody voted, and nobody sent word.
There is no application to fill out, no committee to impress, and no handicap low enough to disqualify you. Joining is not an act here; it is a recognition, and it happened to you years ago on a par 3.
What a round is
Rounds are windows, not shortages. A round runs two weeks, and there is no second printing.
There is no unit counter, no countdown clock, and no quiet restock once the noise dies down. The calendar is the only pressure involved, and it applies to everybody equally.
Why a patch
Golf is the only game that hands you a pencil and asks you to write down what happened. Every other sport lets a bad moment end when it ends; this one files it, initials it, and keeps it in a drawer at the clubhouse.
Flub Club is a golf club with 0 entry requirements, and it sells embroidered patches to people who have already earned them. The pencil was right; the embarrassment was optional.
